Hi,

I am trying to sell my AMD 4600+ X2 on the Bay, but don't have the small plastic case that it came in.

So my question is, how do I protect all those 939 pins from being damaged when I package it up for transit?

Cheers,

the funny thing is that i have the original retail box, but am just missing the cpu plastic thingy. So I guess just stick the pins in some foam. Hopefully they won't break! ;)

Depends whether you want to CPU to work when it arrives or not. If you use ordinary white foam the static charge to tends to hold will probably destroy the CPU. You must put some ally kitchen foil over it first.

Huh, so Aluminium foil round the cpu, and the pins?, and then foam around that? This sounds very precarious to me.

cheers.
