Years ago i found a Nazi medal. It got thrown into a box and i recently found it. Having no desire to own it i decided nows the time to cash in.

A quick google suggested it's fairly generic and not especially rare so i stuck it on eBay. Have now received an email saying it's been removed as it fails their hateful/discriminatory policy.

Anyone know of somewhere that would buy it as from a quick google it's quite a hotly debated topic amongst auctioneers.

Fairly sure mine is at least real :D

Well i assume so anyway. It was in an apartment my parents owned and the previous owners were German so i assume it was a relatives.

As i say i don't think it's rare so would a museum really be interested?

From looking on foreign sites i'm only seeing around £20 value.

I personally would also avoid selling it, not for moral reasons or crap like that, simply because people who tend to collect nazi memorabilia tend to be the sort that i avoid contact with.

Two main types of people who collect Nazi memorabilia:

1. People who idolised nazi ideals

2. War history buffs

Waiting for that guy on his high horse to come along and tell you profiting from an item related to people of a war who may have committed bad acts is immoral... right before he closes the forum, opens up BF and starts role playing war games for fun :p

Yeah you will probably having trouble selling that, which is unfortunate as it's a part of history even if it is a horrible part!

Ebay can be really strict on selling nazi things. I had my listing of gold fillings removed by them a few years back.

I wouldn't give them a choice. Stick it in a box & send it then phone or email to tell them what you've done. I guarantee it won't be the first time they have received Nazi stuff someone was trying to get rid of

What makes it 'Nazi'?

Is it not a German military medal? (I'm not familiar tbh.. maybe it is specifically Nazi rather than German military in which case no doubt different rules apply)

I've got some Afrika Korps stuff my Grandad seems to have nicked from a German soldier in the North African desert in WW2, I wouldn't consider it to be 'Nazi' memorabilia.

I suppose just any germin military element from that time frame is classed as "Nazi"

Maybe i can relist as German military and they'll leave it be!

Yes probably, if you avoid using the word Nazi.

Though if its only worth £20 why not chuck it back in the box? Being able to say "I have a Nazi medal somewhere" is worth £20 lol.

I'm already getting shouted out from the wife for bringing stuff home from my parents!
