There is a website that buy numberplates off of you and have offered me £300 for the standard one that is on the written off mondy. It end's WWW which is why I guess - I just ran the plate through there online auto valueing system.

Anyway, how would I go about just selling the plate?

I'm sure I heard somewhere that if a car is written off by the insurers then the rights to the plate also transfer to them when they pay you the settlement. This is pure hearsay and may be total rubbish but also might be worth checking out.

I have bought the car back.

It is currently taxed and insured but I wish to cash in the remaining 5months tax hence me asking this.

Webby is: http://www.nationalnumbers.co.uk

I just put mine on and they wanna charge £450 for it. Lets just hope someone now wants to buy it!

I think thats a bit of a joke. I put in just my bog standard nothing special reg and it valued it at £400.

They obviously just want you to get the number on their books to bulk it out etc, but nobody it going to spend £400 on the plate.
