Selling Sky Box - What to do with card?

I'm planning on selling my Sky box as I'm no longer a Sky customers and don't use the the box. However, I'm not sure whether to leave the viewing card in or not? If I leave it in, That means the new buyer can use it as a Freesat box. But is there anything that they can do with the card that will come back to haunt me as such? For example, Can they find out anything with that card number?

Cut the card up. Up to the buyer to sort something.

^^ Its not a transferable card, it could be misused and would still be registered to you.

Its no big deal, it will only be acting as sky "freeview" if you see what i mean.

I see Sky digiboxes given away on Freecycle weekly! Sky+ boxes sometimes.

What are they worth really?

While on the subject, if you have Sky+ and you cancel will the sky+ functions still work? So you would be able to record freeview?

No, the recording functionality can only be accessed on an active Sky account.
