Well ive gone and done it, my V-Strom is up for sale, stupidly i took a few bikes out for test rides and have decided that the BMW GSA is the one for me.

Also took out the BMW K1300s and loved it, this thing is so fast and comfy its ridiculous but felt it would not carry enough luggage for 2 for when I go touring.

Also tried the Triumph Explorer and I did not like it at all, I thought it was quite vibby, and felt cheep, was quick and quite fun but I just didn’t click with it.

The GSA on the other hand is just confidence inspiring, I took it out in the pouring rain, round some back roads and loved it, I don’t think there was anything I didn’t like, the engine is quirky, it has a nice sound its tall and comfy and even the wife gave it the thumbs up.

I also got on well with the BMW dealer, I thought they would be quite snobby as there market is for middleclass 40 plus males, but the guy spent plenty of time with me let me test ride what I wanted and no hard sell.

So just need to sell mine now.

Am i mad getting a BMW? what else comes close?

Nothing.....

As much as BMW's seem to be aimed at middle aged men I too have found most BMW dealerships to be the most helpful and friendly!

Get some pics up when you take delivery!

BMW F650 owner 47 but not middle class. :p

Are you mad ?

Not at all if my old F650 is anything to go by.

BMW F800ST and 29 here hehe :P. I use Oxford BMW and they've been pretty friendly and decent guys, though I might be a bit less happy when I have to replace my drive belt in 3k miles!

24 and BMW F800R here :) lol

They do seem very helpful, I think they offer a great range of bikes too, something for everyone (apart from cruisers).
