Hi there,

I built a big fat computer that I'm thinking of selling on the well-known yellow auction site because I need to switch from a PC to a Mac Pro. It's a Core2 quad with 4GB RAM, Corsair PSU, decent heatsink, Lian Li v2100+ case.

My question is: will I get more money for my computer if I sell it as a whole or should I break it down into its component parts (I still have the boxes for all the bits) and sell them individually?

I use the auction site regularly for buying and selling photographic kit but I'm not so familiar with the use of the site for computer bits and bobs.

Thanks,
Jack

If you were selling on the Members Market here it is quite unlikely you'd be able to sell it as a whole and the same is probably true on auction sites. You would probably get more money but you have to balance that against the hassle and cost of posting multiple items.

I would split it and sell it as components, especially as you have the original boxes etc. Whole pc's tend to go really cheaply on the bay which is good if your the buyer but extremely bad if you are the seller.

What is the spec Jack? And would it have upgradeable options for the future?

I have been considering building my first PC, so if yours would suit, I might, possibly, maybe, etc. make you an offer. :D

How much you want, i know someone looking to sell there mac for a PC of that spec. Could arange a swapperooo.

Email in trust, whats the spec?
