Having just recieved my Sapphire ATI Radeon X1900 XT 512MB GDDR3 AVIVO TV-Out/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail (GX-112-SP) , one of the corners is bent so I'm returning it. However when I did try it, it was incredibly noisy, is there anything around a similair price range with equal peformance but less noise? are the 7900 gt's any quieter?
 
I would suggest a 7900GTX as its quiet but out of your price range :p Nothing much out there with quiet default coolers that are powerful.
 
Nope the GT's have different smaller coolers that are apparently loud. You'd see boost from a 7900GT to a X1900XT but i wouldnt expect too much.
 
Yeh my X1800XT is fairly bent as well... Works fine though:)

Its fairly straight forward, just doing up 4 thumb screws. They are a lot easier than they look to fit:) They run nearly silent and cool better than the stock one too:)
