Semi Synthetic & Full Synthetic Zetec Engines

Hi there.

Sorry for the noob question but am I right in thinking the Ford Focus MK1 1.8 Zetec Petrol uses semi synthetic oil? If so, can you use fully synthetic oil in this engine and if you can is there any point in using this as opposed to semi synthetic? As long as it meets the 5w-30 Ford specification.

Not sure there would be much benefit in using fully synthetic, Ford's own Motorcraft oil is more than good enough. I would have thought Synthetic oil is better for more complicated and higher revving engines?

I was just wondering as I can get 5 litres of Comma Xtech semi synthetic 5w-30 for £13 while something like 4 litres of Castrol Magnitec fully synthetic is £24.

So unless there is any reason or great benefit in using full over semi for my car I'll save my cash.
