Ok so I have my ntlworld (Virgin Media), email setup on my iPhone.
However I am only able to SEND emails from it, when I am on my home network via WiFi.

If I switch onto the cellular data (i.e. on 3G), then I am not able to send emails and the only way to send emails is if I were to change my smtp server from the ntlworld one, to the O2 one.

I will be out of country next week and I hope to send email via the hotel WiFi, so is there anyway to configure it so that I can do so?

Im guessing that you cannot send emails if you are not registered with that ISP (e.g. at home I am on ntlworld and thus can authenticate successfully from on my home ISP, and I am an O2 user and as such can authenticate for O2 smtp - Im guessing!).

Any advice or help peeps? Thanks.

I don't see why it wouldn't! Never heard of people being unable to access NTL email from different ISP's, my Dad has his NTL account set up via Outlook at work and he can send and receive just fine.

(NTL/VM should be the same thing)

Perhaps there is an option to enable access via other clients somewhere in the VM website settings? I know on GMail you actually have to enable IMAP or POP3 (if that's the correct term) in order to use other clients to access email.

Not sure tbh!

Hmm let me check into this.
