Have had 8gb of Gskill ddr2 sat in my gigabyte ep45-dq6 for about 8 months now. The ram is the 1000mhz 5,5,5,15 2.1v spec.
So I've had it at 1008mhz, 2.1v, 5,5,5,15 with looser advanced timing due to having 8gb in. Its been fine for 8 months. Prime stable, IBT stable etc etc.
Anyhow, couple of days ago the system failed to post. On/off cycle till it gets into the bios and says that overclocking settings have failed. So cue a lot of testing from me the best I can now get out of the ram modules is:
955mhz @ 6,6,6,18 2.1v.
Doesn't matter if its one stick, two sticks or all of them. Same thing.
This should qualify me for replacement ram?
