First time ever really.

So just wanted to check before I send it.

Should I buy an anti static bag?

Would it be ok to leave cooler and cpu in place. Or is that a big NO NO?

It will be well wrapped.

Same deal for ram as well?

Thanks

I recently flogged a mobo and all its gubbins on eBay, without the original box.

If It was me (and depending what packaging you have available), I'd go ape with the bubble wrap and make sure your components are separately wrapped in anti static bags and then stick it all in a decent sturdy box. Remember, Royal Mail will be involved in handling your precious mobo at some point. ;):D

I went the 'belt and braces' route with my auction sale. The buyer was well chuffed and I got a good price on it too. I reasoned that if corners were cut it would inevitably lead to the dreaded 'item is broken' email from the buyer.

after my recent encounters with the royal mail - wrap it as if a gorilla was going to play basketball with it ;)

lol - yeah i have plenty of bubble wrap and a sturdy box.

So i will take off cooler, take out ram, leave cpu in place and use anti static bags :D

^^ Does that sound good ie leaving the E6600 in place?

Sending an ATX board or heavy-ish MATX board - have always left CPU in, but taken cooler and RAM out. Wrap in a crapload of bubblewrap with something strong surrounding, preferably the box it came in.

Sending your average size MATX board - same as above but have always put less bubble wrap round it.
