Sending email to contacts in a database via outlook.

I have a mysql database which stores contacts that I want to send email too, which solution is best for enabling users to mass email contacts newsletters etc?

Would a third party solution such as Mailchimp be of use? I've used the free version a few times and its been excellent. Extract the contacts from your database and you're good to go.
