My sister has dropped off her Laptop and wants me to format it as it's in a terrible state. She has some MP3 files that she wants backing up and sadly the DVD writer on the drive has stopped working so backing them up this way is a no go.
I've connected her PC upto the network and she is sharing the connection, therefore the network works fine.
I've setup an FTP server on my PC using BulltetFTPserver and installed Filezilla onto her laptop and I was successful in sending a small selection of pictures across using this method.
The problem is that to connect to the FTP, I have to use my NTL IP address rather than the network 192.*.*.* address and this results in a very slow transfer speed.
can anyone suggest why Filezilla will not connect to the FTP using the 192 address but can successfully connect using the 82.8.*.* address?
Does anyone have an alternative method that I could use that uses the fulll speed of my network?
Thanks in advance.
