Sending files over MSN?

Sorry guys for being a bit offtopic but my pc has a msn virus that spams some diet crap message which i have no idea how i got as i never really get any and i was wondering does anyone know a real good way to rid it?

I've tried AVG but seems it hasn't fully removed it and i've also checked in taskmanager for wierd proccesses but see none.

Sounds like typical malware, try downloading and installing some of these programs:

1) MalwareBytes
2) Spybot S&D
3) Lavasoft- Adware

Run updates and do scans and immunize your system. If AVG is failing, possibly try some other AV such as:

1) Avira Antivirus
2) Kaspersky
3) NOD32

If none of those find it, I'll be supprised.

Once you've done all that Sycho has suggested, change your password for Messenger/hotmail as I've seen cases where something else is signing in to the account from another system to send the messages when the person's computer is off.

I had a similar issue a few days back. My pc is clean of malware, I never use my hotmail account anywhere apart from for MSN on my home computer yet somehow a spam message got sent to all of my contacts (and people who I'd sent an email to through hotmail who weren't even on my MSN list). I'm still somewhat confused.
