I only have the option for a FIX/REPAIR.

What happens if they cannot fix it ?.

Also you have to arrange your own carrier to pick it up  after they have done with it.

Anyone have any experience ?, did anyone pay the £15 handling fee and does that mean they will return it so you don't need to arrange pickup ?.

if they cant fix they usually send a used/repaired replacement card out

sometimes they will email you a freepost label, you would need to ask

Yeah, that is what i thought but on the email it says FIX/REPAIR ONLY.

Capitals, Bold and underlined.

This is in the RMA form

Note: 1. This RMA number is for REPAIR/FIX ONLY, please do not alter the words unless authorised.

Worried i will be without.

yeah you'll have to send it off,if they cant repair it they will usually offer/send you an already repaired card

The email said it was to pay for next day deliver.
Choice 1: You may return the item to GBT Tech direct for repair attempt only and the handling fee for this service is £15 (non refundable) and is payable by Royal Mail postal order which must be sent with the item. Please note: Repair is not guaranteed on OOW items. You may send cash in GBP but if so, please use Registered post and ensure a insurance value is given to Royal mail before posting. GBT-Tech cannot be held responsible for missing or stolen cash on arrival of the package to our offices. Please note if you live in the Republic of Ireland the handling fee is £40

Dear Sir,
If you pay the £15 and send to us, we will return the goods complete either repaired/replaced on a next day courier service. Please ensure you add your town/City name to the address on the RMA form section before printing off a copy and placing it inside the package.

I have stapled £15 onto the RMA sheet, It sounds dodgy though.

This is where it is heading to

You'll need to fully star out that word.

There has been lots of talk in this forum about the Gigabyte RMA service and I don't recall anyone mentioning having to pay a £15 handling fee let alone sending cash.

Has the RMA been arranged through Gigabyte or directly with this company?

If the card is faulty you shouldn't be out of pocket.

You may be better of going to Gigabyte themselves or, if they've arranged this odd RMA process, return it to the retailer instead and let them sort it out.

The RMA was started with Gigabyte directly, [email protected] to be exact.

I do not trust the retailer because they are slow and take a % for each month you have had the card + other additional costs. I also chose gigabyte directly because I have read how good the RMA service is with it been in the UK.

I have bought mostly Gigabyte because of this.

It is a very strange situation I must admit.

Some experiences of other people who've gone through the RMA process with Gigabyte would be helpful, I've never heard of a handling fee.

Perhaps get back on to Gigabyte and see if they're aware that their repair company are making these charges.

If you were returning the card back to the retailer for repair or replacement there shouldn't be any charges to pay. In general you shouldn't be out of pocket for faulty goods though if you received a refund it can be reduced to take account of how long you've had the card.

I have been through this process.
The handling fee covers the cost of them sending it back to you.
They didn't charge me anything for the repair although they would have been entitled to.
I received my item back repaired within a week.

If it's a warranty repair (as it appears Dave's is) there shouldn't be any charge for returning the card.

If anything he should be requesting a refund of the cost to send the the card.

Agreed, mine was damaged by myself so was quite happy with the above process.
Perhaps when they have inspected it and agreed that it is a warranty repair they would refund the handling charge ?

I still have not heard anything from Gigabyte about the card. Not even confirmation of delivery.

Will give it another week and start asking questions. The email said 5-6 days.
