Sending mail to the States.

Hello,

I need to send a letter across the pond, but I'm not sure how the address should be written.

Does this look correct to you?

Name + Surname
House number + Street name
Town/City
State (TEXAS or TX?)
Zip Code
United States of America

Just don't want to mess this up. Also, anyone know how long it will take to get over there? Could I have it arriving within a week, if I send tomorrow?

Think the zip code is last.

Either way it will get there, you put enough info down.

It's quite common for city, state and zip to all be on the same line, e.g.:

San Diego, CA 92121

But in any event it should get there.

If you need it to get there fairly quickly, then be sure to send it air mail.

PS - Country should always come last.

Abbreviations are fine e.g.

The White House
1600 Pennsylvania Ave NW
Washington, DC 20500
USA

All the stuff i send always takes a week to get there. Thats to new hampshire, i think it took the same amount of time to get to new mexico as well.

I send stuff to Calagary and that takes about a week.
