Why is sending multi-page SMS so problematic? Most of the time when I'm receiving one I'll get the first text then [receiving text] for ages afterwards, long past the time it would have taken for the sender to just manually break the message up themselves. Sometimes I don't even get the full message. Why is that?

I (and my Wife) send and receive Multi-Texts of 3 or more on a regular basis, mainly as neither of us like using 'Txt Spk' so we write out texts in proper English!..

Both on Android... Gingerbread 2.3.4 on my Xperia Arc, Gingerbread 2.3.3 on the Wife's Galaxy Ace...

What phone are you using. What network are you on? What app are you using?

Me and my gf text in full English pretty much all the time. We usually have 2-3 pages per text. Rarely any problems with SMS messages.

She's got a Blackberry using stock messaging.
I've got a Milestone Android phone using Handcent.

Both of us are on T-Mobile.

Currently I'm on a Blackberry Torch 9800 with Orange and my lady is on some cheapo LG thing with O2. Apart from this neither of us have any complaints about our networks to be honest. Surprised by the above comments really, I thought this was typical of mobile phones in general. Could it be because of my lady's **** phone then?

This use to happen to me years ago, but tbh I haven't noticed this problem anymore. Use to get part of the message and then something at the end of it saying [missing text] or something similar, but again, no issues in recent years.
