I'm looking at sending a PC (Just the PC, no monitor or speakers) from Dublin to Switzerland. Anyone know of any companys that can help?

Off hand does anyone know the average weight of a PC?

Thanks
B

Lol, average weight can depend entirly on whats in it. My media pc might weigh in at about 6-8KG whereas my main pc will weigh more like 25KG. It would be wise to weigh it to get an exact weight, that way pricing becomes easier.

as for companies that do that srt of thing, I have no idea, sorry. Others might though.

If possible I'd put the expansion cards etc. in their original boxes and send them seperately as I doubt it's going to have the smoothest ride over there whoever you send it with.

I know it sounds a bit daft, but I'll need one over there, and it will be cheaper to just send over the box. A mate of mine has an old monitor, so thats cool.

Think I could bring the PSU with me in my usual baggage - that would defo lighten things up a bit.

Also stuff the inside of the case with bubble wrap / newspaperjust incase anything comes loose.

On the delivery side of things i would go with DHL or Fedex.

Well they never really do. Bear in mind, these guys deliver 1000's of PCs all over the world every day. I'm no to worried if its insured anyway. I'd nearly hope they'd lose it so I could by a laptop!!

Isn't bubble wrap a nightmare as regards static electricity? I might be wrong, but it sounds like a silly idea to me.

Just leave everything in the case tbh. There is no way a properly attached heatsink will 'fall off' however rough they are with the case (excluding force so large the whole case will be trashed). Most cards are usually pretty firmly in place and screwed in at the connector end as well.
