Just picked up a pair of these. To be honest I am coming from a £10 pair of JVC so anything was going to be a step up but these things sound awesome for £25.

Anyone else got them? If your running the standard earphones that came with your mp3 player/phone I strongly recommend upgrading to a pair.

If they sound awesome they are probably not fakes :D

Thats the problem with buying Sennheiser :( almost anywhere "reasonably" priced is probably fake, not always knowingly by the seller.

Love my Streetwear MX400s only £20 but sound amazing.

To be honest they were a bit of an impulse buy. The missus was in homebase so I thought I would just pop into a high street electrical store to have a look. Found these, checked a couple of online review and google prices to make sure I wasn't being ripped off and got them. Mega happy - although it makes you wonder what really expensive ones sound like...

At that driver size not a massive jump really from a good quality set of senns. Talking proper headphones with ~40-60mm drivers tho and theres a big jump in quality the more you pay :D

Some of the Sennheiser fakes out there are pretty convincing and very difficulty to tell apart. There's a post on Head-fi about a particular Sennheiser IE8 fake, which is virtually the same, apart from the sound and a few tiny cosmetic changes.

They are pretty easy to tell sound quality wise once you've heard real ones - the fakes actually aren't terrible bad SQ wise but very average SQ.

Indeed my fake CX500's were by no means bad. Better than the standard iPod/phone ones anyway. Changed them to the RHA MA-350, which are a similar price to the CX300's and the difference is like night and day.
