Ive just got a pair of these headphones, its my first pair of closed style ones. So just went for a cheap pair so see how I get on.

Will be using them for music listening from my PC mostly. They work fine, but Iam just after some advice on how to get the most from them ive heard people say that you need to 'burn' them in?

Also they are just plugged into my motherboard, the sounds seems a bit disappointing to be honest, iam sure they could be louder-can anyone suggest anything? Do I need a soundcard to get the best from them, or some kinda amp?

Firstly, I say forget "burn-in" and just use your headphones.

The HD202s are budget headphones so don't expect miracles, but you can get try to get the best out of them by making sure you are using high quality mp3s or lossless music. As for the loudness, based on the specs they should be easily driven even by even your motherboard. Are you sure you aren't just wanting it to be deafeningly loud?:p

You could always get a very cheap solution like the FiiO E5 or a Xonar DG. These would do the trick as pure volume boosters. I really wouldn't suggest spending any more than that trying to improve cheap headphones.
