Ok so i see a few people are confused at the PC-360/PC-350/PC-330 differences so thought i would post what i have found.

I own a PC-350 and have been extremely happy with it but in my job i get to test out other hardware and decided to give the PC-330 and PC-360 a go.

For those of you that know the entire Sennheiser Range here is a list of what drivers are in the new G4me series headsets:

Drivers
PC-330 = HD205
PC-350 = PXC-350
PC-360 = HD555

Cup Design
PC-330 = Closed Back, Leatherette
PC-350 = Closed Back, Leatherette
PC-360 = Open Back, Velour

The PC-330 also features a dj design which allows you to swivel the right ear up without removing the left ear and also features the volume control on the right ear and auto mute's when the mic is up.

The PC-350 is obviously the oldest of the 3 and i have been using it personally for 6 months and think its a great headset, although when the misses talks to me or the baby is cry ii cannot hear it due to the closed back design.

The PC-360 well they gave me a set to try and i can 110% recommend these if there within your budget, they definitely have more bass and i can now hear the miss's....dunno if thats a good or bad thing really. The thing thta i never noticed with the PC-350 was the lack of bass but when i played BC2 with these on it was a different sound altogether and nicer. I could here all the ambient noises in the jungle with birds tweeting and then a mortar would hit close by and you could feel the bass through your body.

Also the PC-360 uses the HD555 drivers which are an Audiophile product so if you really enjoy your music and are looking for a headset capable of both gaming and listening to some tunes then i would highly recommend the PC-360. It also has the same auto mute and earcup volume control as the PC-330 has albeit a better version of the volume controller.

I hope this helps anyone thats looking to get a new headset and hope it clears up a few questions i've seen.

Yeah good post Ultim8, but i also thought that the PC350's have the same drivers as the HD555/595, is this incorrect?

It could be that the PXC350 is basically an HD555 but branded for the PC350 headset, but im just guessing.

I think you may be correct on this but i will confirm it on Monday with Sennheiser. But to me there is definitely a difference in quality between the 360 and the 350 whether this is just due to the fact that the bass levels sound a lot better or not i dont know.

Rather than guess i'll find out for sure and let you know :)

Nice one, yeah the PC350's need to have holes drilled in them to sound good, i think sennheiser realised this and decided to go with an open design in the PC360s so they sound good from the get go, no drilling required :)

Yes Sennheiser did realise that, and they also realised they could up the cost significantly. £170 is laughable for what they are.

Ok right i have had a response from Sennheiser and this is what he has stated:

The HD 555 and the PXC 350 definitely use different drivers, as the design in the headphones is different( Closedback / openback) the drivers themselves need different characteristics:

If you look at the tech spec on these two headphones you will see some noticeable differences:

PXC 350
Frequency Range - 8Hz - 28,000Khz
Impedance - 150Ohms
SPL - 108Db
Transducer - Dynamic

HD 555
Impedance - 50 Ohms
Frequency Response - 15Hz- 28,000Khz
SPL - 112Db
Transducer - Open and Dynamic

Now if we look at the PC 350 compared to the PC 360:

PC 350
Frequency Range - 10hz - 26,000Hz
Impedance - 150Ohms
SPL - 108Db

PC 360
Frequency Range - 15Hz-28,000Khz
Impedance - 50Ohms
SPL - 112Db

It's very possible for the same drivers to have two different sets of specifications. The Goldring NS1000 are 100 ohm in passive mode and 300 ohm in active mode. Frequency response is listed as 23kHz for active and 20khz for passive. That's the same drivers in the same headphone - just with a switch flicked.

I've seen a Sennheiser rep claim the PC350s and the HD595 have the same drivers.

Great post Ultim8 thank you.

I've been wondering the same thing and if the sound quality of the 360s is superior in games and they help your ears to breathe I think that's better for me than the slightly better immersion by having closed cups and better noise cancelling.

I do agree that the cost difference between the two is a shocker.
