Using a set of Acoustic Energy Aego M with my X-Fi. Mainly for gaming and mp3's. I need a set of headphones and I wonder would the X-Fi do justice to the HS595 or would I be better served going for the cheaper PC150 or 160's ?

Yeah I meant the HD595.
Would I get away using them without a headphone amp and just plugged into my X-Fi. Would be planning to use CMSS-3D for gaming.

Actually I just realised I will need some headphones for my ipod too, and I hate those in air plugs. I am thinking of killing 2 birds with 1 stone and getting either a pair of AKG K 28 NC's or Sennheiser PXC300 noise cancelling jobs. They are light enough to wear outdoors and the AKG's seem like they might be decent for gaming as the reviews I have read said they have very good bass. Gaming and MP3's are my main requirement, not listening to hi-fi. And the noise cancelling is a plus outdoors and when my PC gets loud when gaming. So what do you think - AKG or Sennheiser's ?

I had the exact same pair before and found them annoying to get them exactly right in your ear, and uncomfortable - tried the gel and foam buds. Think proper noise cancelling jobs are ideal for me...ones that can be used indoors and not too dorky to wear outdoors. Hopefull someone else will chime in who has used these. Thanks.
