sennheiser mx500 and coffee

I just dropped one of my headphones in about 5mm of coffee in the bottom of my cup. I've unplugged them as they were on at the time. I've given them a shake and left them to dry. how long should I leave them before switching back on? any permanent damage likely ? I'm now musicless and bored at work

Did the coffee have any sugar in it? If so, get some fairly hot soapy water, and wash the headphones with it.

Heck my Creative MP3 player was dropped in coffee and left a stain on the screen. A swish around a bowl of soapy water and 6 hours drying time on my CRT monitor = :cool:

no sugar, luckily as I've got no soap!
ill giv it ten mins and plug it in then so I can listen to the traffic news

No.. I don't have to. Work provides soap in the toilets for us to use :confused:

as for the soap, should I stand there dunking a bar of soap in my coffee cup to make some soapy water or do you think it'll be ok...... wink

teatowel on radiator, with the headphones on top, to dry out the insides.
