sennheiser outlet silly prices

Yep barking as well for my pc350se ... phoned sennheiser in regards them not compatible with ps4 . They knew nothing about it and mention the adaptor ... they are sending one free of charge ... Now that's good customer service :D

Mine still shows in Germany but that was at 11:30am, so should be here tomorrow or Friday by the latest.

I will try and give my best impression of the sound/soundstage for gaming (since I am not into music) against the AKG 7xxx.

Hd700s should be here tomorrow currently stuck in barking. will post a review and a comparison with my hd595s.

My HD700 is stuck at barking too.

The headphones must be having a party together over their right now :p

As an owner of hd 598/600 and 700 , the 700 gets used daily . The 600's are in my drawer , and the 598 are in my 2nd turntable setup . I actually find the 598 better than the 600's .

The 700's took me a while to get into. But even at the £600 I paid for them 16 months ago i'm happy :)

but the 600 650 shine with the right amp right ?

Urgh I'm bummed I didn't spot this earlier, Momentums at 100 quid would have been awesome for work to replace my uncomfortable HD25-II's.

look around you can fine momentums for around that price and even cheaper a high street exchange shop with branches all over sell them for £88 brand new in an unopened box

Personal preference . They will be good . the hd600 were my first headphones ... Loved them . Picked up the hd598 as a backup as they were mega cheap . After listening to them against the hd600 I found I was hearing instruments better with them than the 600's .

but the 700's are my baby :) amped yes

Mine have departed Barking so party must be winding down :D

Germany Order Processed -> Langenhagen -> Herne-Boernig -> Barking and now on the road again.

Due to their origins in reference type use they largely stay true to what they are being fed - while they have some characteristics of their own they will respond quite well to tweaking what your feeding them. (So the amp can make quite a difference).

From my experience to get the best out of them with most common amp designs you need atleast a gain of 5, ideally 6 - they aren't the most flattering to amps with high noise floor (though nothing like high sensitivity drivers in that regard) so going too much about that can be detrimental as well - likewise aren't the most flattering towards poor quality sources hence from a purely listening enjoyment experience other headphone can sound better to casual users even ignoring different tastes.

Mine should be here tomorrow too.

Someone paid £600 for a set of these? wow is that not HD800 territory?

Just looked at camelcamel and you must have bought them at the wrong time. lowest they have been is £330 and highest is £599 that's a HUGE fluctuation in price.

@ £215 I don't see how anyone could lose money, those that cancelled must be kicking themselves

700s started in the 600-700 region. the hd800s are £1k actually they recently had a price hike of £100 so they are £1100 at the moment.

hd700s got a lot of bad press because of the treble spike, which whilst notable is not as bad as all the whiners make it out to be ("made my ears bleed...etc etc")

no doubt loads will end up on ebay, always the case with hotukdeals where people buy items to profiteer even if they are refurbs

:) Mine are out for delivery so should be with me soon.

I'll probably do a quick comparison against the X1's just to note the differences.

Quick blast on BF4.

Paired with Asus STX, Uni Xonar drivers, High Gain on Amp Setting (64-300ohm headsets), 2 Channel Audio, Sample Rate 44.1khz, Dolby Headphone NOT selected, Effect: Gerneric.

In game: Headphone setting and Stereo. Volume level: 30.

Straight away I can notice these are less muddy than the AKG 7xx, sounds were less recessed and warm. I guess more analytical is the phrase I am looking for. Bass is punchy and where these shine is in high end frequencies. May sound cliche but I did start hearing new things like the parrots chirping as you approached them, equipment rattle as you run, more pronounced bullets hitting hard surfaces as you fire a weapon.

Positioning and spacial awareness is what you expect from any decent stereo can but I will test soundstage tonight.

It's just an early impression and I need to test these more to see if I find them fatiguing, if not I will use these as every day cans.
