Sennheiser PC 363D Problem

I've installed the Driver, made sure I switched it to 7.1 but nothing happens, the Sennheiser icon shows that I'm only at 2, I try to click 5.1, 7.1 etc but nothing happens.

Anyone else know what I'm doing wrong?

Annoyingly I posted how to fix this before but I've completely forgotten the details and can't find it from a quick search :S it might be as simple as changing the number of speakers in the playback section for the selected sound device in windows.

It seems that I don't have any options a part from stero settings, I know my board has 7.1 on board audio, so why can't I locate it. Anyone experienced this problem before?

If its the same issue it is basically a case of making sure in the windows sound options the device is configured as having 7.1 speakers.

It looks like the supplied dongle that comes with the PC363D's.

Its the USB 3D G4me 1 dongle.

As an aside as its not a well documented feature you have to slide the top of it to enable Dolby Pro-Logic II encoding if you want the full positional audio features - don't recommend that mode for listening to music though.
