Sennheiser PC360

I'd also like to know what people opinions on them are

As far as I know they're similar to the PC350's, except open back and lack the folding ability

I think they're slightly overpriced for what they provide in terms of sound.

They are brilliant headsets though, and the microphone sounds high quality. They look good in my opinion, and much better than most gaming headsets.

I see the price has dropped a bit. £160 was a crazy price if you ask me. £130 odd is still overpriced IMO, but hey that's Sennheiser for you. A member here thinks they are as good as the HD595's, whereas someone else was disappointed with them, and thought his HD555's were better. Make of that what you will.

I own a set and they are worth every penny at 130 quid. OUTSTANDING HEADSET. dont even bother with my grado sr 80 for movies anymore just lift the mic boom up and use these they sound better with dolby headphone.
cant reccomend them highly enough having used all sorts of headsets these are a different class. Even to its little brother the pc 350 which my flat mate owns so im very familiar with the difference and the sound quality is far better on the 360's the open housing makes all the difference and lets the drivers breathe. The drivers in question are the same as the hd 558 and in open casing this makes such a difference to quality over the 350s. It also uses same velvet headband/earcups as 598 and 558 which can be worn for hours on end with zero discomfort. For those with 595 the new felt is slightly softer. open design means you dont get heat build up on your ears and they have a volume control on the earcup itself so no silly inline effort like many cheaper headsets. mic is noise cancelling and bendable to any angle and auto mutes when lifted which is a nice touch for ventrillo/teamspeak/ skype. me and AeoNGriM have a pair and rave about them. best headset you buy hands down. audiophile headphones with best mic sennheiser can make. essentially a 558 and i mean that same components part numbers etc. so for sound quality reviews look at them. with noise cancelling mic volume control on ear. the one warning would be get a decent sound card or a amp they really do need it to do them justice. heres a link to a post from a few weeks back talking about the pc 360's
between me n AeoNGriM

thanks for that farooq

i'm still in 2 minds about the PC350 or the PC360 there's like £20 in it
it;s the open back design I'm not sure about....my HD555's have it and the sound leakage I've noticed is pretty mad...enough to disturb someone in the same room as you

Hows the bass?

yea sound leakage is similar to your current headphones the hd 555. but the sound reproduction is around same quality if not slightly higher. this is not true for the pc 350 which sound far worse than your hd 555 trust me. as for poster above I also found them to have flat bass at first. however its due to the 50hm impedance not the headphones there bass is rich and deep when amped and they do deffinitly require an amp on the sound card or a external fiio series e5 e7 e9. or Digital audio converter if your made of money. as for build quality ive had mine since november no issues on mine at all and I game each day on voice comms for about 4 hours. I would suggest you return them to sennhiser or retailer.these have a 2 year warranty for defects. and there rma service is good having used it for hd 515 in the past. around a 3 day turn around faster of done through retailer.

terms are here posted from senn uk webby hope thet gets u your money back

(My product is in warranty

Thanks again farooq...you're better than any of the reviews I've read haha

Rockin an X-Fi Fatal1ty Titanium sound card, I'm guessing no amp? That filo e5 is like £20 and it does everything I'd need to enhance the sound?

unfortunetly your sound card does not have a headphone amp :(

ye the fiio e5 is enough for what you need it makes them sound lovly and warm. only draw back on the e5 is when charging from usb it has machine noise from charging circuit on lithium battery which produces a hiss so id advise you dont have it plugged into usb when using it. battery lasts for many hours anyway so should not be a problem. just giving you all the info lad. I picked mine up for 16 quid from advanced mp3. Ocuk dont sell them so dont think im breaking any forum rules. That said Gibbo or any ocuk staff / admins you really should stock these from sheer number of people on this forum that use them you could make a killing. anyhow glad I was of some help bro let me now how you get on

thanks a lot man

you've really made me consider the PC360 over the PC350, reading a lot on forums now about the HD555's vs the PC350 and how the HD555 is just superior. if what you're saying is correct and the PC360 has an equal (if not higher) quality of sound output (when using a small desktop amp) compared to the HD555's then they're definitely in the running to get my cash.

I know I could just keep the HD555's for gaming, but the lack of built in mic is annoying. I find that the logitech desk mic I have is not good and noise cancelling so it picks up a lot of unwanted sound.

thanks again.....hope the OP got a lot of advice out of this thread too haha, feel like I kinda hijacked it

EDIT: Just looked at the Ear Force DSS and JVC SU-DH1 surround sound headphone adapters....at £80+ that would push the price of the PC360's over £200....I've never had a complaint with the 3D sound emulation that my X-Fi card does, gets me accused of "hacking" many times (such a good card to boost your ego)

Each earpiece on the PC 360 has a frequency response of 15-28,000Hz with an impedance of 50 Ohms. Sound Pressure Level is rated at 112dB. (The older PC 350 is 10-26,000Hz, 150ohms, 108dB.

Purchased PC360's about month ago, after finding out they shared some HD558 components and near identical HD5** range design. If the PC360's were **** compared to my HD595's I would have sent them back under DSA without hesitation.

as for the chap whos getting the xonar essence and a set of 360's u have a built in headphone amp just set it for 50 ohms. and by the way nice set up.

i was just reading about them on another thread, too expensive

i'm not an audiophile but any means so i'm not gonna spend that much for em.

if i can find a pair of 360's to try before i get back to the UK i will, but if not then they're still looking like the best ones around.

was tempted to change my sound card, but posted a thread asking if i should and was told that the money id spend upgrading wouldn't be worth the minor gains
