Hear me out. I'm looking for a 'do-everything' rig. High end gaming, video editing, good fast storage.

I want it to be very quiet when doing simple tasks as I record video/audio in the same room. But when I play a 4k game, I don't mind it getting a bit noisier.

I already have Keyboard, mouse and monitors. I'll also use my existing 1060 gfx card from my old PC until the new 5900xt comes out later this year.

Spec:
AMD Ryzen 9 3900X - £449.99

Total order value
£2,594.93

Key questions:
1) Anything not fit together?
2) Does the Liquid cooler fit in the case?
3) I plan to replace the corsair hydro fans with the noctura ones on the cooler. Worth it?
4) Is 3600MHz ram better than 3200MHz?

My initial thoughts are that the XT refresh CPUs are out imminently, the SSDs are on the expensive side, a high-end air cooler is going to be quieter in normal use (and I don't think that case will take that cooler anyway), and take a look at the Fractal Design Meshify cases.

Given your desire for quiet, you might like to follow my example and have your PC at a distance - perhaps in a cupboard - by using long cables. You can get 10m fibre-optic Displayport and HDMI cables and active USB 2 & 3 cables.

Not cheap!

Rather than pay the "Samsung tax" for stupidly priced NVME drives I would save £180 and have a pair of the Corsair MP510 drives instead. They are only slightly slower than the Samsungs, not that you would ever notice outside of benchmarks, but the Corsair has triple the endurance of the Samsung drives.

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £608.68 (includes shipping: £8.70)

Like Quartz states, that AIO won't fit in that case and by the look of things that case is going to starve any coolers of airflow so I would choose a better case than that based on cooling alone. You may want things to be quiet but you have some pretty high end stuff going in there and the last thing you want to do is cook them. It will be like sticking everything in a hot box.

Thanks, I was about to jump at this but the post below said the gen 4 drives are even better so I'll go with those.

Yeah I think you are right about the case. Do you have any specific recommendations? Ideally, it wouldn't have a window and be somewhat quiet, though I appreciate there is maybe better return on improving airflow to lower RPM rather than dampening. Any thoughts? This is for work so not too fussed about spending a bit more to get something good.

Gosh that is actually brilliant. I actually have the perfect cupboard for this too. In addition to the silence, it would also stop my room from getting really hot/stuffy in the summer. I was considering getting an AC unit, but if I can do this, it will likely negate the need for that.

Oh the rabbit hole of PC builds, how I missed you!
