Because the first time (and only time) I did a sensor clean myself I didn't do the best of jobs I decided to get my backup camera cleaned at a camera store. It cost £35 and to be honest I'm not sure what to expect.

When you have a sensor cleaned professionally should you get a perfectly clean sensor on return? the reason I ask is after doing a test shot there a still a few marks with one being quite noticeable when doing the f22 test.. actually I'm not sure it's much better just moved...

If I should expect a perfectly clean sensor can someone recommened a good place? I need it done quickly as I need it for a trip in a couple of weeks.

I've always done it myself and found once or twice I needed to re-do it

If I had paid I would expect a proper job to be done and take it back :)

Thanks.

I've decided to do it myself, the next nearest dealer to me that does sensor cleaning charges £59 and although I don't mind paying that now and again I'm going to be doing a lot more traveling this year starting off with iceland in a couple of weeks so I can see the sensor is going to need cleaning more often when working in poor conditions.

On that basis can someone recommend a good cleaning system?

I'm thinking maybe one of these kits:

or

You know the glue sticks are to tie the pads to and allow you to reach into the camera body and not to scrape the sensor, right ;) :p

I had mine profesionally cleaned for free at a trade show once. It came back just as dirty so I did it myself using pec pads and now it's clean.

I would take it back if paying for it.

I just use, IPA watered down a bit with distilled water, and some lint free swaps. Not going to pay over the odds for the same stuff in a fancy bottle. Its all we use at work so its good enough for me.

I ended up getting a kit from cameraclean, they were very helpful and did a kit with the stuff that I wanted and not the standard kit. It has arrived but I've not used it yet, will probably only get time on the weekend.
