Sept 11, Emergency services transcript

All I can hear is "Oh God" in my mind.

It makes me want to bring pain and suffering to those who caused the tragic event on that day.

you cant because they're all in paradise having fulfilled Allahs plan or whatever.

I say bull to all that, I know plenty of muslims and you cant meet kinder people. I dont think for one second Islam is really about any of that and I think shame on any islamic teachers who teach such crap.

In what way?

Because before I knew and thought Sept 11 was awful. But I hadnt actually thought about what it meant to individuals/families etc.

Hearing one individuals plight, just brings it all home. I have to say that mp3/transcript got to me more than anything has since watching the towers come down live on TV all those years ago. Possibly more.

I think people have to be quite stupid to think killing innocent people regardless of faith will send you to heaven. It seems like brainwashing in a way to me. Like really if you were in a position where some guy is telling you God wants you to do this, could you really believe him? I couldnt, not with anyway that they spin it.

Its the way they will be taught from a young age.. its their way of life.

just like we have been taught our way of life.. its something that wont be changed overnight..

unfortunately their way of life is fundamentally twisted and warped

Fair enough. I've read a few articles about it, and they all seem to hit me, although I did have family in the city at the time. To me, it hits worst when you can put a face (or in the case voice) to it all. I watched the second tower come down live, yet part of me still can't comprehend it all.

Can't really make out what he's saying tbh, but it makes you feel uneasy.

This may sound really in-sensitive, but still, now, five years on I can't get my head around the fact that it really happend and it wasn't a film.

I've heard/seen worse that removed site is pretty messed up

Indeed. That site harbours the most disgusting and disturbing material on the internet. The transcript is absolutely nothing compared to what's on removed. I'll just mention "beheading videos" so you get the picture. Horrible stuff.

I didn't want to start a thread that had refrences to that o-word site.

I have removed the link, and would appreciate if a don could remove all references to that site that it was hosted on before.

If it is also ok with a Don, I will rehost somewhere else, or someone else can as I am away now until late tommorow evening.

its all horror content yes.

but ultimately its real life.... all it is doing is reflecting how sick and brutal some people can be. its not orchestrating the horror.

Agree entirely. If you think you've seen it all and you haven't seen what's on removed; you're very wrong!

They have made a film United 93 based on the events on the plane.

Sure it is out soon.

The 9/11 is a 'Kennedy' moment, as almost everyone will remember where they were at the time.

The image that also sticks in my mind also apart from obvious is George Bush being informed and still remained listening to children's stories.

The trailer was pulled from all New York theatres. So dont know if it will come out.

That **** on that website can really mess you up if you're not strong. Puts death into perspective. For me it just builds character, my sick morbid side will watch/listen to it without much hesitation.

Those images have changed a generation, but unless you were there, the impact although great. was less.
Having served in Iraq i can say that there is no easy solution, and that ultimatlty, we are different people from those living in the middle east.
We all want a nice life, we all want to be able to pray to our own god.
I like my life, i will defend it,
Let them stand before the big man
