First i rushed in and got a Agility 60GiG SSD from OCers, then i found out my MB only has SATAII so got a Marvel SATAIII card which im having trouble booting from with the SSD connected, then i read here that marvel chipset is rubbish!

I dont want to try and send the stuff back as i did not do my research so it's my fault but is there anything i can do to get the SSD up to speed for a windows boot?

Boots fine from the SSD when connected to MB SATAII

The SSD will work fine on the SATA 2 port and should be running near maximum speed that SATA 2 can handle.

As said. It works fine but you will be capped to sata-2 speeds. However The differences in real world performance are fairly minimal. So it's not that big of a deal. Personally though, I'd buy a decent controller card for the drive. However it will work fine as mentioned with one.

It's your call. Either way is fine.

The speeds are a lot more than the HDD on SATA 2 so all good on that.

Im getting just over 400MB/sec read and 230MB/sec write using the marvell controller which is'nt to bad at all compared to 110MB/sec read and write from the HDD.

If only i could get it to boot !

Is the Marvell controller listed in the BIOS where you select the boot order?

If it is then make it the first boot device.

Had a fiddle around with the bios settings and all is well now, very nice, thanks.

Never saw the Marvell controller just the SSD description itself. The controller comes up before the bios boot screen!

Ill maybe invest in a new cards or even MB but 250 write and 400 read is very impressive.
