Basicly my card is idling at 97 degrees, and thats at 40% fan speed while playing runescape lol.

I put the fan speed up 13% from the stock levels and i refuse to go higher it just gets too loud.

I really don't know what to do any advice?

I won't be getting anything 3rd party for now cause im looking into watercooling, but thats a couple of months away if i go ahead, but these temps can't be right not at idle it just doesn't make sence.

heat v's sound
the choice is yours, 97 idle is hot
personally i learn to live with fan noise, my 295 is on 65% all the time
what case are you using ?

when i first got it, it idled at about 80 - 85 on 27% fan speed (default)
It's now at 100 degrees at 40% fan speed!!!

Im not even doing nothing, i have runescape open, 2 firefox browsers, and media player. My old laptop could do that without this much heat.

I can't have the fan any lower or the fans will kick in a full speed now and again to cool it.

Im actually scared to play any games lol.

Something wrong there.

Mine idles at 43C at 40% fan speed.
Load (100% usage on both cores) gets up to 70~C still at 40%.

Not sure must have had it about 6 or 7 months brand new of overclockers, its the old Gainward design, meaning its hasn't got the same fan on from the current images.

underclocking won't solve the problem it will just hide it until i need/want to use it, plus it defeats the purpose of splashing out on a good card.

I bootsed the fan up to 50% as im listening to music so the sound isnt a problem atm.

currently 76 degrees, 20% usages and 50% fan speed.

Changing the 2D clocks to 307/300 on both helps reduce heat.

Mine is currently 38°/35° with 35% fan

Something definitely doesn't seem right though.

Again not being funny but changing clock speeds underclocking etc doesn't solve the problem it hides it, then when i want to use it i can't.

now running at 63C with the GPU clock at 507mhz and Memory Clock at 500MHz still seems very hot though comparted to some other people here.
Fans at 40%

And im using the Antec 900 case to whoever asked ealier.
