Was just about to ask that, i did it once and was trying to figure out for ages whats wrong, took ages to boot...

Maybe try running CPU-Z on it? I'm not 100% sure if it detects the L1 and L2 cache or just reads it from a table though... I guess if it shows something out of whack, you know for certain, if all seems OK you're none the wiser.
