Ok, first off, my current rig is in my signature- to save people asking. About a week ago, I put my PC into hibernate and when I hit the power button to turn it back on, nothing happened- my fans turned on, optical drive spun up but no HD activity, nothing being output on the screen and no RAM activity. I turned off the power to the PC (from the plug) and went back to it a few mins later and everything worked fine and I just put it down to a bad hibernate.

A similar thing happened earlier, I turned the PC off to swap monitors, and it hasnt worked since; my fans turned on, optical drive spun up but no HD activity, nothing being output on the screen and no RAM activity. My RAM has activity LED's on it, and there was literally nothing happening whatsoever so I concluded that it was that. I swapped it out for different RAM and had the same thing; I tried every DIMM and got nothing. I've cleared the CMOS, unplugged it, swapped DIMMs, done everything I can think of and it hasn't worked at all. The error codes i'm getting dont seem to have any meaning, so i'm thinking it's the mobo but it's only just over a year old....

I plan on swapping out my graphics card just for the sake of testing but I don't see how it could be that.

Anyone have any ideas?

Ok, quick update, i'm now getting a POST code of 9.0. which the manual says is something to do with my BIOS and uGuru. I don't have the uGuru thing attached and assuming my problem today is the same as the one last week (where powering off make it work) it can't be a corrupt BIOS chip or it would have died and been dead, not worked for a week after that.

This PC has been built for a year so I know it's not any sort of temperature issue related to an imporperly seated HSF....

I'll take the BIOS battery out and see what happens. Any other input much appreciated.
