Ok now am lost as wee to go next, i have tryed everything i know and nothing seems to make a difference.

Spec:
E6300 @ 3.15Ghz
1 GB Geil DDR2 PC6400 RAM
Gigabyte DS3
BFB GeForce 7600GT
Seagate 200GB SATA HD
2 x Maxtor 160GB SATA HDs
Tagan 500W PSU

Tonight i went to take out the RAM and replace it with 1 GB i got from the MM as I have to RMA both sticks to Geil. Upon swapping the sticks, and cleaning off dust with a clean brush, the machine starts up, as in lights, fans etc but nothing on screen, not one thing.

Tryed the Geil RAM again, re-sitting the GFX card 3 times, swapping RAM in different slots.

Nothing happens other than then machines fans, lights, HD spinning up.

I dont no were to go from here so all help is welcomed.

clear the cmos (remove bios battery)

if youv overclocked somthing, allways put it back to stock bios settings befor changing parts :)

try booting outside of the case? just using 1 stick of RAM , the mobo, the cpu, hsf , gpu and psu? but outside of the case to erradicate cold boots...

aahh before i do that i would follow what the previous poster suggested...put everything back to stock and then try booting...the fact your cpu is at 3.15ghz suggests to me your machine was running then stopped booting...so if you cleared CMOS and then tried rebooting with everything set at stock...

if still nothing, i would say it could be your mobo has died, as the lights and the fans would still spin if it was dead...

clearing cmos will reset the bios....and if you were able to get into windows prior to this problem occuring then you should again...

how / when did you comp stop?

just after i pulled out the Geil RAM and replaced it with the back up stick and some incase cleaning, everything was fine berfore the shutdown for the RAM swap.

Freah Windows XP install is only a week on

Still no luck after the CMOS reset, still getting nothing on the display while every stil lights up/spins etc

Took the battery out and left it for 20mins with the power cord out and put it back in, still nothing.

any more ideas?

I would try a different graphics card and PSU if that is possible.

What beep codes are you getting when you try boot up? Might want to look into that before trying what I've suggested above.

When you cleared the CMOS, you did change the clear CMOS jumper to clear and not normal didn't you?

Might be worth checking if that jumper is set as normal or not. I can't help thinking you're booting the machine up with the jumper set to clear. :D

I had the same problem, was going to post. Instead i'll keep an eye on this topic. I have the same ram.

When i cleared the CMOS i just pulled the battery out and let it sit, never touched the CL_CMOS jumpers on the board above the battery.

cheers

only thing i can try now i guess is to test the gfx card on a different board to rule it out, if that works then it has 2 be the board

what is the timings on the new memory? The ds3 has some issues with certain memory because it will default to 1.8v with the spd timings burnt on the memory chips, whereas most ddr2 requires 2.1v

Havn't tried booting with both them out but give it a go with the GFX out on its own still no beeps

when you took the battery out did u swap the jumper around like your supposed to?

i agree , to make sure its 100% the mobo try another gpu , if you dont have or cant get one, a well known auction site has them for a few quid...

good luck
