Hi,

Just finished my first build with the intention of overclocking but have fallen at the first hurdle!

Aftern loading up for the first time in windows decided to run OCCT straight away without any changes and temps hit 100 within 3 seconds.

Don't know what to do now, should I re-seat my heatsink or forget about overclocking?

any advice would be greatly appreciated

Cheers

Hi,

cpu is i7 930 and the heatsink is Titan Fenrir Xmas edition!

Yeah going to reseat the heatsink and see how that goes.

I have attached some pics of the thermal paste that I have applied after removing the heatsink.

Does anyone think that i have applied the paste poorly and that this may be the reason for the high temps?

Cheers

I have now finally added the pics. The paste is Arctic Silver 5. Once I have the system running again I will provide a CPU-Z screenshot.

Cheers

Thanks to everyones suggestions and help.

Have reseated the heatsink and the temps while no where near as bad are still poor.

see images attached for idle temps and after a few mins of stress! think I must be very poor at seating the heatsink and will have to do it again!! Have checked all the fans and they are working fine. I am not expert but vcore seem ok as well.

It's a cm690 ii case and the fan has been running at 2200 rpm which I think is 100% as far as I know. Do you not think that the temps should be far lower especially at stock settings?

Greatings,

I have reseated the heatsink and ran RealTemps sensor test as advised. The results below. I think they are much better now and am relatively happy. Does anyone think it is ok to go ahead with a small overclock?
