Good day to everyone,

Recently after installing service pack 1 for windows 7 home premium, no sound worked at all on any application. I did a system restore which fixed that, but now none of my adobe applications work. I have all the programmes in adobe production premium CS5.

Is there anything I can do to 'reset' them all or to get them to work. Premiere immediately becomes non responsive as soon as I open it. After effects takes ages to boot and then some techno babble message comes up and has to force close. The other ones become un responsive soon after opening.

Please give me any advice as I don't know what on earth to do. This is very important.

Cheers

Tom

Is there anything I could do short of reinstalling and requesting a new serial?

Some really odd stuff is now happening. The computer doesn't boot every go and freezes when any USB device that requires power is plugged in. It won't connect to the internet and is generally acting like nothing really weird. It is almost as if the hard drive isn't turning on as when it doesn't boot, there is not HDD led flashing like it should.

Could a full system reset help? I would backup all valuable files and all adobe stuff just in case. Could there be anything physical that need replacing?

Also should I reinstall alladobe programs, would I need to request a new serial?

Cheers

a reformat would probably be your best bet mate,
as for your hdd there are a few utilities you can use to check full functionality of the hardware, i dont know of any that i am allowed to post though, hopfully someone else will assist with this

you should try and use the old serial first, if it doesnt work then request a new one, as long as you have proof of purchase you are fine (Y)

Adobe products require a serial to install but as the one I am currently using was used to install the programs in the first place, it is now invalid if those programmes are uninstalled

I would have thought the serial limit is to stop you installing the product on 10 machines at once, not on your own machine again. I'm sure if you ring adobe they will be able to reactivate your serial/give you a new one if you do need to re-install. At the end of the day, you have bought a licence to use their software so they should allow you to do so...

For the CS3 master collection I had you could install it twice using the same serial number. The idea being you could install it on a work machine and a laptop so you could take your work home (which is exactly what I did).

What you couldn't do is have both machines connected to the internet at the same time, obviously that would be running two instances of the same softwar at the same time.

If it's still the case you should have one activation left, I would still contact customer services and see what they say...hopefully they will be more useful than when I had to contact them some time ago...

Ok I have reinstalled ( I was wrong about needing a new serial my bad) but the same results. I can't open anything. I uninstalled using ccleaner so all files were properly deleted. I think I will have to do a strength reset
