Serious Question, Wine Gums....

Ok, so I'm sitting here wasting time before I go out to play a league game of squash at 8.40 (:rolleyes:).

I have a pack of wine gums sitting here waiting to be eat. I've read something about athletes using jelly beans for energy. If I was to eat this pack of wine gums what time should I eat them to gain the benefit during squash. Any downsides?
 
A slightly more sensible comment .... If anything a quick sugar hit - so can't see any effect from eating them before hand. Unless you down the whole packet and you'll feel sick.

I carry a handful of jelly type sweets on a long run, mainly as something to look forward to rather than any other reason.
 
heh, i remember that match last season when rio ferdinand started chowing down on bloomin jaffa cakes. take them when you feel your energy dropping for a quick sugar hit.
