One week ago i tryed to open itunes and i got a strange error message-

'The itunes music library.itl file is locked, on a locked disk, or you do not have write permission for this file.'

now what the hell does that mean? since then i have burned all my music to dvd and reinstalled itunes only to recieve the same error message. none of my system settings have changed (as far as i know) and i'm just getting really annoyed at not being able to listen to music from my laptop!! i've got 2 hard drives and have tried installing itunes on both with the same result.

Any help would be really appreciated!!

hey, i've followed the steps above but the problem remains the same- i get exactly the same message when i try to start itunes.

do you think its something to do with the fact that my cd/dvd drive has stopped detecting cd's?

thanks for the help so far!

ok so i've tried everything i can think of and still the problem remains the same. totally rubbish.

so the only next thing i can do is find some new software- instead of the pathetic itunes.

any suggestions? i would still like to be able to use my ipod though. thanks.
