I'm not sure if you guys are saying that China can be excused for everything, due to our own past history? It seems like that's what you're saying.

There's no need for everyone else to keep repeating the same mistakes we made. Aren't we supposed to learn from history? We've got the internet (hmm, actually they don't, they've got Communet), science is everywhere. Shamans, faith healers, TCM... should all be dying not flourishing.

How about you stop telling the chinese what they should be doing and address the total destruction of every natural environment in the uk, your attitude smacks of the worst days of empire.

Seriously, I wish we could send them some sort of message that this **** is intolerable. That they should stop being so damn reckless and backwards, and get their act together.

It's disgusting that any major civilisation could still believe in nonsense like Traditional Chinese Medicine. Really, tell me how ground up tiger bones will cure cancer? Or erectile dysfunction?

No one will ever force China to stop this madness, so it will have to come from within. But it really saddens me to think this is going on, and to know that we are completely powerless to stop it.

We destroy vast areas of rainforests so we can have beef for our fast food restaurants, not that different, at,least they use what they massacre, we just set it all on fire and grow grass

Ever heard of Shark Fin Soup? They don't "use what they massacre" at all. They throw all but the fin back into the water.

AFAIK we don't have rainforest in the UK either.

Indeed we don't, but we don't grow or raise even half the food we consume in this country.

We destroy other poor countries environments so that they will ruin those biodiversity and force many even uncataloged species into extinction.

using part of the animal is still using it, just indiscriminately starting Forest fires then bulldozing doesn't even use anything but the ash

I don't get why it's become so prevalent to blame ourselves/ the West for the rest of the world's problems. I'm not sure if it's some sense of misplaced guilt for being a 1st world power?

In one of my other threads about Africa people kept trying to say that all Africa's current problems are due to their colonial past - that it was our fault Zimbabwe had gone to ruin. That was BS and this is BS.

If another country chooses to engage in deforestation, what can we do to stop them? Not much.

Although there are plenty of people in the West - the people you think are the root of the problem - who choose to give money to (attempt to) preserve these places.

Yes and it's to do with the OP or tone of OP's post. When someone starts quite aggressively in GD, for some reason people just have to argue the opposite way.

If China was even 50% Muslim then this thread would be 10 pages long about barbaric out dated practices.

What about the Japanese whaling? Or the whaling cull on the Faroe islands?
