Seriously, WTH is wrong with China?

Nobody is inexcusable regarding preservation of animals.
It's quite difficult to say to a nation that's has an engrained tradition of this for hundreds of years that it is wrong. Hell, would've been using tiger dong before the states and UK were even nations. :p

If you own anything produced in China, you're a ****ing hypocrite OP.

Buying things from China is not an endorsement of the country's practises...

One would have to starve on the streets if you take that attitude, because buying anything from any country means you endorse every bad thing they do...

There are a lot of things we would consider wrong with China but no more or less than is wrong with our own or any other country Culturally we're all different and what seems right to someone in X won't be right to someone in Y as for their wiping out of endangered species I think it's wrong but us forcing animals into domestication for either food or to become a pet is form my point of view crueller than what the Chinese are up to at least the tiger has a chance to defend itself unlike the livestock in this country which is actually being conditioned to line itself up for the slaughter.

It's interesting to see how some people can come come in on their high horse and start ranting about what the Chinese have been practicing for centuries is wrong and needs to stop immediately.

1) I'm not endorsing their practices, nor do I agree that they should. They need to educate the population and perhaps start the same style of "Save The Endangered" campaign which seems to work very well in the West - i.e. Aww, look at this cute and cuddly thing, we need to save it. (Whilst at the same time ignoring the more ugly ones e.g. Malayan pangolin.)

2) Have a look at how many products you purchase contains palm tree oil and see how many grounds are burnt to grow masses and masses of palm trees. Just because you're not directly destroying an endangered species, don't mean you're a saint.

Again, it's educating and rasing awareness. Let the general population know, especially the new generation and they will change their thoughts. Just because you don't agree don't mean one country should be nuked or be condemned forever. Raise awareness and stop waltzing in like you're a saint pointing at another unlrelated group and blame them.

We all had to step over someones toes to get somewhere, just because you got somewhere before everyone else, don't make you the better person.

150 years ago we (the British) started a (second) war with China because they didn't want to allow us to import opium into the country, seized the drugs we were trying to and clearly didn't learn their lesson the first time we kicked their arses for having the temerity to object to our opium imports.

Perhaps if there had been a more advanced and benevolent society around at the time they could have helped to educate us, rather than condemning us as scumbag drug dealer racist warmongers.

So why don't we work on educating rather than condemning the Chinese?

That is just cruel. This **** should be stopped.

Often these hunting holidays are used to fund conservation work that maintains animal populations. The big game hunters pay a high premium and a portion and the land owners help to keep a viable population of big game.

This may not be the ideal way of funding things, but it's a working model.
