Seriously, WTH is wrong with China?

I was watching some videos on human migration and evolution and learned that the Chinese are taught in school that they did not descend from Africans like the rest of the world, and in fact are descendants of Homo Erectus, their own special race if you will.

There's no proof they did come from Africans. There are more holes getting poked in the out of Africa theory every day.

There are a lot of things we would consider wrong with China but no more or less than is wrong with our own or any other country Culturally we're all different and what seems right to someone in X won't be right to someone in Y as for their wiping out of endangered species I think it's wrong but us forcing animals into domestication for either food or to become a pet is form my point of view crueller than what the Chinese are up to at least the tiger has a chance to defend itself unlike the livestock in this country which is actually being conditioned to line itself up for the slaughter.

The only hypocrites are the ones who apply different strategies to different countries. Ie, we won't criticise China for human rights abuses, but we will for less powerful nations.

Anyway, talking of 'culture'. Some places have for centuries practiced female circumcision. Part of their culture, right?

Some have a 'culture' where honour killings are commonplace. Or infanticide. Or marrying 12 year old girls to 50 year old men. Some places even subject young boys to sodomy as part of their 'culture'.

But hey, if it's just their culture, it's fine right? We can't judge them for it. Especially because we were once a colonial power therefore cannot take a moral stance on anything, now and forever.

So yeah, let's all respect the Chinese culture. Because traditional abuse is acceptable abuse.

Different culture.

They would also think putting your parents in an old people's home disrespectful.

Culture.

That might well be the case, it doesn't excuse it though... if some people over there want to cling to backwards beliefs about medicine etc.. then that's one thing, however when it starts to threaten various species it becomes a bit of a problem.

I'm pretty sure nobody (besides the ones doing it) condones this behaviour but politically it would be a fecel-storm.

Yes, it's abhorrent however trying to sway the minds of millions up to billions has its... difficulties.

Malevolence is part of human nature (and it ain't going anywhere) so you can beat around the bush as to what you think is right and wrong in other cultures but first you might need to take a long hard look at your own before judging others.

So you're equating human rights to animals rights now? wow

Your OP started off as quite militant but now you're coming off as a bit rabid, no one is taking you seriously. On and by the way, there are animal rights groups in China too. Are they going to lumped in with the rest of the Chinese you hate?

But I guess that doesn't fit in with your "The Chinese are Evil" narrow viewpoint

A life is a life is a life.

You often find that people who are OK with animal cruelty are quite capable of cruelty to their fellow man also.

Anyhow, I don't think China has much time for human rights either...

No, an animal life does NOT equal a human life, not in any stretch of the imagination. So, you didn't answer my question. Will you now backpedal your massive generalisation in your OP that it's all Chinese that have no love for animals now that you know there are animal rights campaigners in China?

Or is your complete ignorance going to blind you?
