Server 08 R2 on ESXi 4.0

Has anyone else tried this? Is it unstabel for you or do I have a bigger problem on my hands?

works fine. I have it on my home test bed in that config (not exactly taxing it). I believe we also have it at the office on both esxi3.5/4 and xenserver.

mmm fiddle sticks, better look in to that one then.

Its not being pushed to any great extent, just seems to randomly lock up, normally when doing something involving MMC.

There was a known problem with the VMWare display driver - I don't think it's been fixed yet.

Uninstall vmware tools on the 2008 R2 VM, and reinstall vmware tools choosing custom - tick everything except the vmware display driver.

That will likely sort the problem out.

Just set one up today, noticed that the final step of OS installation was VERYYYY slow compared to normal, but now that it's finished install it seems perfectly fine, soon to be setting it up as an exchange server so i'll see what happens then (it's a test/doing it for the sake of doing it network so luckily it doesnt matter if it does die or i break it :D)
