hi recently i've been having a problem whereby the sbs 2003 evaluation i have installed on a spare machine has been shutting itself down, now its got the windows firewall for the network connection on, and doesnt have any domains or dns services setup as of yet.
is it possible to remotely shutdown a sbs 2003?
as im wondering if i've left a backdoor open somehow to allow a anonymous user to shutdown the server :(

Does it restart itself or shut off ?

Give the log files a read to see if something is mentioned inthere.

its like when you would goto start then shutdown and select shutdown again. its not like its crashing and shutting down.
lol i've just checked the event logs, under the system log it has this :
Description:
This computer must be configured as a domain controller. it will be shut down in 30 minutes. to prevent this computer from shutting down, run setup on the disk that you used to install the operating system to configure the computer as a domainc controller...

what the heck?
i know its a sbs2003 eval but why is it forcing me to put a domain up?
