Server 2008/ IE10 / GPO

Hi

Our Win 7 desktops have updated to IE 10 and now the proxy server GPO no longer works. I've some some googling but I'm still not clear on how to fix this?

Without more information posted it's a complete shot in the dark. Is the policy actually applying the proxy? Have you done an RSOP on a machine, etc?

I've come across this problem. Group policy (internet explorer maintenance section) doesn't work for IE 10. You have to use group policy preference section in your gpo.

If you open up group policy management console in Windows 8 desktop you'll have option to create group policy preference for IE10.

We only have Win7 clients.

I think the option to create group policy preference for IE10 is only available in Windows 8 or Server 2012 group policy management console.

You may need to download trial to get gpo created/edited.

Preferences work differently than normal group policy settings and make sure you test gpo before applying to any production machines.

You'll need to import the admx files from server 2012 (or the ones that deal with IE10) to your GP console. Should work then.
