W2K is 64 bit only??

If so, to try it out on VMware server do I need to have a 64bit OS to try it on? I want to play around with it on Vista HP32

EDIT: Just found the x86 version. However, question above still stands.

You can only emulate the same hardware restrictions you have.

i.e. 32 bit can only run 32 / 16 bit. 64 bit can run 64 / 32 and 16 bit operating systems.

In short you can not run a 64-bit operating system on a 32 bit operating system.

Yeah, weird one that. I have run 64 bit guests on a 32 bit host before using VirtualBox no problems at all. I think it's just a VMWare thing

Windows Server 2008 64 bit has run fine for me on XP 32 using VB, so just give it a go.

Iv never gotten 16 bit stuff to work in a 32bit guest with a 64 bit host

Thumbs up for vurtual box being able to do the 32bit host to 64bit guest though (i think)

virtualbox has only supported 64 bit guests for a few weeks now since version 2 came out. and i'm almost certain it won't work on a 32bit hosts. are you really sure about that?

Yeah lol My mate was talking about this exact thing (he wanted to run a 64 bit guest but was stuck on a 32 bit host at the time). I told him what I just told you - ditch VMWare and install VBox. He was impressed too :p

ah right. you'll have to forgive my ingorance. :)

but what exactly is the point anyway? running a 64bit guest on a 32bit host seems a bit backwards to me. :p
