Server 2008 r2 vpn server setup.

Iv got the system working perfectly as a vpn server via l2tp but when out and about some wifi networks block l2tp so i need to use sstp to get around it. Now server 2008 wants certificates etc to get that to work. I tried self signed certificate but doesnt seem to work. Any tips on this?

Buy a trusted one? They cost peanuts from the likes of NameCheap.

Sounds like a bit of a janky setup. OpenVPN would be far simpler.
