Hi all,

Having some wierd bugs at the moment, and i dont know what it is happening. hopefully you peeps can assist.

I have a Windows 2008R2 Server, and the majority of clients (all for this example) are running Windows 7

A client, Uploads a file or folder to the share. Both the client, and Server can see that the data resides in that location.

All other clients however, are unable to see the data (Refreshing does nothing) untill the clients os has been restarted.

Anyone come accross this? and more importantly, how did you fix it!?

im not fully understanding what your saying, to me its not clear.
can you see the files on the server e.g actualty loged in to it? not set to hide files?

Yes, on the server I can see the files uploaded by the client where there files/folders originate from (as can the client) all other clients however, cannot see this data.

What happens if you restart the Workstation service on the affected clients instead of rebooting?
Same thing, no change.

I'd look at the properties of the shared folder on the server and disable "offline files".
Offline by default, double checked.. not on, horrible feature that is :)

Try removing these registry entries on one of the affected clients (export them first if you wish)

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer\NoRemoteRecursiveEvents
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer\NoRemoteChangeNotify

and then kill explorer.exe in task manager and restart it.

I've had this in the past. Also, disabling SMB2 might help as per http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2696547 but it might not be an option for you.
