Server 2012 R2 & 2 Factor Authentication

Has anyone experience of 2 factor authentication on Server 2012 R2 Essentials, particularly Remote Web Access and VPN?

I've been looking at Duo Security's free option but I'm unsure if it will be ok for RWA and VPN and the issues involved.

Although I haven't used it with Windows VPN I have used it with Remote Web Access and Remote Desktop access and it works well.

Always reliably worked for us and we had a paid for and also free subscription.
