Hi all,
Just wondering if anyone else is having a simplar issue to me.
I have several 2008 servers, all doing server backup successfully to a ReadyNas (sparc v4.1.10) and all ofr well over a year. happy days.
Got my hands on a new Hyperv box last week and installed server 2012 on it. I then went to configure the awesome windows server backup to use the same readynas as the 2008 boxes, but sadly I get a 'doesn't support this file type' error.
Everything on google points me to a samba config change to change the default behaviour of a windows sparse file when stored on a unix box. Sadly, this hasn't worked and I still get the same error
My digging has shown that 2012 uses .vhdx and 2008 uses .vhd.
The vhdx file gets created and so do other lof files and whatnot, but no data goes across.
No firmware update available for my NAS, no option to change the file format on server backup either.
I've been banging my head against the wall for 2 days now.....
any ideas?
thanks.
