I was running a small home PC with server 2003 on it, which was controlling a software dynamic disc (raid5) for data storage.
Having focused so much on the data storage array I overlooked the importance of the OS drive. Last week this became my first ever drive to fail and now the storage drives show up as a foreign disks in the new OS disk management.
I can't seem to find anything on how to reconstruct the array by just telling it what used to be there.
Is there a way to configure the OS remember the raid array/dynamic disk without spending $250 on a 3rd party reconstruction program??
Any help or advice appreciated on this one as there were over 25,000 photos on that volume.
